How do I change or cancel my booking?
Guests can amend or cancel their booking by contacting the Heritage Escapes team directly. Cancellation terms vary depending on the booking type and notice period. View our cancellation policy.

How close are the Heritage Escapes cottages to the Yorkshire coast?
Heritage Escapes at High Barn and Field House cottages is just minutes from the Yorkshire coast, with easy access to beaches, coastal paths, and seaside towns such as Filey, Bridlington, and Scarborough. Heritage Escapes apartments at York Old Brewery are in York city centre, 40 miles from the coast.

What is included in a stay at Heritage Escapes?
All accommodation includes heating, free secure parking, high‑quality linens, towels, Wi‑Fi, fully equipped kitchens, smart TVs, and outdoor seating and complimentary welcome essentials.

Is each kitchen at Heritage Escapes cottages fully equipped for cooking during our stay?
Yes. All our cottages have well‑equipped kitchens that include;
- Fridge‑freezer
- Electric cooker and microwave
- Dishwasher
- Essential cookware, utensils, crockery and glassware
- Useful kitchen basics such as cling film, foil, and a selection of cleaning products
- Washer dryer or washing machine and tumble dryer
- Welcome hamper /welcome tray

Do you offer accessible or mobility friendly accommodation?
Yes. Selected Cottages are designed with accessibility in mind, including ramp access, wider doorways, walk in showers, wet rooms and single‑level layouts. Guests can contact the team to confirm suitability before booking. The Roost, Ostler’s Corner, The Cake House, The Spinney, The Turnip House and The Garden Cottage all offer level access entrances and ground floor facilities ,with en-suite bedrooms and living /dining/kitchen areas. What types of holiday accommodation does Heritage Escapes offer?
Heritage Escapes provides luxury self‑catering cottages on the Yorkshire Coast and luxury apartments within York City Walls.

What is the check in and check out time?
Check‑in typically begins at 3pm and check‑out is at 10am. Early check‑in or late check‑out may be available on request.

Is Heritage Escapes suitable for families?
Many of the cottages are family‑friendly, offering spacious accommodation, safe outdoor play areas, and easy access to beaches, countryside walks, and local attractions. We have an age restriction at High Barn to children of 5 years and over because it is a tranquil site, including a large wildlife pond. In our York apartments, we are happy to welcome children 12 years and over.

Can I book short breaks or weekend stays?
Yes. Heritage Escapes offers flexible short breaks, including 2‑night, 3‑night, and mid‑week stays, depending on the season and property availability.

Are the Heritage Escapes cottages dog friendly?
Some of the properties at Heritage Escapes are dog‑friendly, but not all. Our dog Friendly cottage are The Turnip House, The Byre, Hind’s Cottage. View our code of conduct for dogs.

What local attractions are near Heritage Escapes?
Heritage Escapes is close to a wide range of Yorkshire attractions. Field House and High Barn offer easy access to Filey and Bridlington beaches, the walking routes around Flamborough Head, Bempton Cliffs RSPB Reserve, the Yorkshire Wolds, and popular sites such as Sewerby Hall and Gardens and Burton Agnes.
Heritage Escapes also has three properties in York, ideally located for exploring the city. They are close to major attractions including York Minster, The Shambles, the National Railway Museum, Clifford’s Tower, the City Walls, and the riverside walking routes. Guests can enjoy cafés, restaurants, museums, and historic landmarks all within easy reach.

Is there plenty of parking?
Yes there is ample parking for both sites on the coast. Designated parking for one car per apartment in York.

We offer EV charging at Field House Farm and High Barn. More information

Do you have dog-free cottages?
All cottages at High Barn are dog free. All apartments in York are dog free. At Field House The Garden Cottage, The Old Dairy, Ostler’s Corner and The Roost are dog free.

Is a pub in walking distance of High Barn and Field House Farm?
Yes, There is a pub a few minutes walk away just down our road.

How close are you to the sea/beach at Field House Farm and High Barn?
We are a five minute drive to the beach -about a mile away.

Will we be able to see puffins and gannets at RSPB Bempton Cliffs – what time of the year?
Puffins and gannets arrive at the cliffs from March and leave in late summer. Seals and dolphins are also often seen.

How close are Field House Farm and High Barn to Bempton Cliffs?
We are two miles away from Bempton Cliffs.

What is there for kids to do near Field House Farm and High Barn?
Leisure World in Bridlington, Sewerby Park Zoo, The Edge Aerial Adventure, John Bull World of Rock, Seaside rides and amusements.

Is Field House Farm a real working farm and do you keep farm animals?
Yes, Field House Farm is mainly an arable farm, but we retain a small herd of cows.

Is your area good cycling country?
Yes, the area around High Barn and Field House Farm are on a Sustrans route and East Yorkshire has many quiet roads. We have secure storage for visitors with bicycles at all of our locations. More information.

Can we walk around your fields at Field House Farm?
Visitors are able to walk around our fields when they are not being grazed by cows or sheep

Can we get supermarket deliveries?
Yes, supermarket deliveries are available at all our locations.

Only at The Field House Farm site on the coast

Yes in the cottages at Field House Farm and High Barn except The Byre.
